Poppy

Poppy

Poppy was purchased by a woman who wanted her own goat’s milk. The woman was told that Poppy was about one year old and pregnant (a prerequisite for milking), but she saw no sign of kids after several months of waiting.

MFS received a call in 2011 asking that we take Poppy with the caveat that if she should eventually give birth she would be returned to the woman. Cheri explained that if MFS took Poppy, we would not be giving her back to be used for her milk. Fortunately, the woman decided to relinquish Poppy, and as it turns out, she was about 8 years old and was never pregnant.

Poppy now spends her time hanging out in the small goat barn and is known among MFS staff and volunteers, lovingly, for her big, bad attitude!
