Max

Max

Max was going to be sold for veal, as are most all male calves. The caring person who rescued him had good intentions but unknowingly fed him too much grain, leading to a thiamine deficiency. This resulted in “moon blindness,” where he looks upward as if at the moon. Max can see shadows only. It’s like being legally blind for humans. He became too big for his original caretaker to house anymore and so he came to MFS. Max loves his special treat of carrots and having his coat brushed.
