Yoda

Yoda

Yoda was the result of a 4H project that went badly, as she and two other female Nigerian Dwarf goats —Chewie and Pumpkin—were being raised by three young girls who got tired of taking care of them in 2015.

MFS agreed to take in the three goats, who were about 10-12 years old at the time, because we had room and felt bad that these older girls were no longer wanted by the people who had been caring for them. Fortunately they settled in nicely at MFS and are among our friendliest goats.

Yoda is also one of three goats named for “Star Wars” characters, along with Chewie and Abkar. While Yoda is a female, she sports a small beard, something that male and female goats from several species often have.

Yoda passed away of old age in 2020. She is missed by her best friends Chewie and Pumpkin as well as all the humans at Maple Farm.
