Pumpkin was the result of a 4H project that went badly, as she and two other female Nigerian Dwarf goats—Yoda and Chewie—were being raised by three young girls who got tired of taking care of them in 2015.

MFS agreed to take in the three goats, who were about 10-12 years old at the time, because we had room and felt bad that these older girls were no longer wanted by the people who had been caring for them. Fortunately they settled in nicely at MFS and are among our friendliest goats.

All three goats enjoy following visitors around, and Pumpkin can frequently be seen posing for photos—you’ll likely see lots of shots of her on our Facebook and Instagram feeds.
